When my mom was going through a divorce my family relied on public assistance while Mom got back on her feet. Many of us need a hand up from time to time and Project 2025 doesn't speak favorably about social safety nets.
1. Restrict access to food assistance. 92% of all SNAP benefits go to household with income at or below the federal poverty line. (P25 pgs 299/300)
2. Eliminate Head Start Program. (P25 pg 482)
3. Make it harder to earn overtime pay. (P25 pg 592)
4. Weaken child labor protections amending hazard regulations to allow employers to put young people in unsafe working conditions. (P25 pg 595)
5. Limit which disabilities qualify veterans for benefits which will cut costs by having fewer health conditions qualify veterans for disability benefits. (P25 pgs 649/650)
6. Child Support Payments: "... the nonresident parents could track “informal” gifts from money, groceries, clothes, sports gear, and more through the app. This process would enable nonresident parents to track the amount of informal support they provide and the reason for it while ensuring that the resident parent acknowledges and accepts." (P25 pg 479)
It doesn't specifically say that the custodial parent will not receive their child support, but it reads like that's a possibility and this may really hurt single parents financially.
7. Reduce the number of H2-A visas which allows temporary farm workers to harvest during the summer.
If food isn't harvested, our food prices will increase. (P25 pg 611)

6. Eliminate men’s preventive services (condoms) from the women’s preventive services mandate in ACA. (P25 pg 485)

8. Restore Trump religious and moral exemptions to the contraceptive mandate, allowing companies like Hobby Lobby to be exempt from contraception coverage in the employee health policies. (P25 pg 483)

Project 2025 plans to be ready to start gutting the EPA on day one (January 20, 2025). Here's what they wrote on page 423:
"The majority of the political appointee team must be assembled, vetted, and ready to deploy before Day One. To the extent provided by the Federal Vacancies Reform Act, appointees in consideration for Senate-confirmed positions (excluding the Administrator) should be prepared to serve as a Deputy or Principal Deputy to get into the agency on Day One..."
